Our Plymouth shortlisted for PlymouthLive Business Awards 2022

Our Plymouth is thrilled to announce that we have been shortlisted in the prestigious PlymouthLive Business Awards 2022.

These Awards have become one of the largest events in the city’s business calendar and are seen as a key opportunity to celebrate companies and promote the good work being done here.

They are designed to celebrate local businesses who contribute economically, culturally and socially towards the success of Britain’s Ocean City.

Our Plymouth CIC has been shortlisted for the Social Enterprise Award at the PlymouthLive Business Awards, which are headline sponsored by the University of Plymouth and City College Plymouth.

The accolade seeks to recognise the Plymouth businesses that are making a major contribution to the city’s economy – and community – by being a social enterprise.

This could include companies of any size, but during the nomination process entrants were asked to explain what the business does, how they are constituted (for example, are they community interest companies or not-for-profit businesses),and how they benefit the community – in other words, what is the social part of the enterprise.

Judges will be looking for examples of how Our Plymouth has adapted to a changing marketplace and our strategy for the future.

Last year’s Social Enterprise Award went to Pollenize CIC, which was founded by born-and-bred Plymouthians Matthew Elmes and Owen Finnie in 2018 and works on pollinator conservation.

Martin Mills, Director at Our Plymouth CIC, said: “We’re extremely proud that Our Plymouth has been shortlisted for the Social Enterprise Award at the PlymouthLive Business Awards 2022.

“Receiving this nomination is in recognition of our team’s hard work, commitment and dedication to helping local businesses and organisations to connect with the volunteers they need to continue operating.

“Good luck to all the other finalists including our fellow category nominees, Peninsula Dental Social Enterprise CIC, Sentinel Private Healthcare and Stiltskin’s Soapbox Children’s Theatre.”

After the judging process is completed, the winners and finalists will be honoured during a glittering ceremony and three-course dinner at Plymouth Argyle Football Club’s Home Park Stadium on Thursday 6 October.

Before that, Our Plymouth will join the other shortlisted businesses on Thursday 8 September for a special drinks reception at The Box Plymouth. This is a great opportunity to network with all other finalists, judges and sponsors ahead of the main event.

Full coverage of all finalists will be published on PlymouthLive and BusinessLive, as well as in print in the Plymouth Herald. We will also be featured on the South West BusinessLive Newsletter.
